Mercury/Neptune Conjunct: Emerges from the Fog but Remains in the Shadow

Mercury is finally out of retrograde… but not out of the shadow. That lingering feeling of “something still isn’t settled”? Yeah, that’s the post-retrograde shadow phase, and it won’t officially clear until April 27th.
So what is shadow? It’s the part of the sky Mercury travels over again after turning direct—revisiting the same degrees it covered while retrograding. This time, Mercury started its backspin at 9° Aries and retrograded back into Pisces. Now, as it moves forward again, it retraces those steps. Until it passes 9° Aries once more, we’re still feeling echoes and themes from the retrograde.
And right now, Mercury isn't just moving forward—it’s doing so in fiery Aries. As soon as it entered Aries, it met up with Neptune at 0° Aries, a powerful conjunction. This is actually the third time Mercury and Neptune have met recently:
March 2 – 1st conjunction at 28° Pisces (Mercury direct)
March 30 – 2nd conjunction at 29° Pisces (Mercury retrograde, right after the Full Moon)
Now – 3rd and final conjunction at 0° Aries (Mercury direct again)
What’s wild is that Neptune just shifted into Aries after spending 14 years in Pisces. This marks the first of many Mercury-Neptune conjunctions in Aries over the next decade-plus. So this isn't just a meet-up—it’s the kickoff of a new cycle, a new frequency for intuitive insight, visionary thinking, and mental reprogramming.
The Energy of Aries: From the Inside Out
This Aries territory we’re in? It’s all about momentum—inner fire turning outward. Aries is a physical, bold, and outspoken sign. And when Mercury (mind, communication) is in Aries, you can expect the mental wheels to turn fast.
This isn’t passive thinking—it’s impulse to action. It’s about being enthusiastic, ambitious, driven. But it all starts within. Think of it as an inside-out game: clarity, energy, and vision must spark internally before they become external momentum.
So ask yourself:
Are you fired up about what you’re doing?
Are you mentally AND physically aligned with your ambitions?
Are your thoughts energizing or draining you?
Mercury + Neptune: Intuition or Illusion?
When Mercury and Neptune team up, you get a blend of thought and dream. At its best, this combo brings:
Intuitive hits
Open-mindedness
Deep insights
A search for higher meaning
But Neptune is also the planet of illusion. So on the flip side, this can bring:
Confusion
Errors and forgetfulness
Wishful thinking
Self-deception
So it’s a good time to ask:Are you being honest with yourself? Are you being honest with others?Or are you glossing over truth with a pretty fantasy?
The Sabian Symbol: A Seal Embracing Her
The Sabian Symbol for this degree of Aries is poetic and mysterious:“A woman just risen from the sea; a seal is embracing her.”
This speaks of emergence, of new forms rising from the deep, of consciousness evolving into something new. There’s a sense of destiny awakening—but also a question of whether we’ll embrace it.
It’s about potential. But potential alone isn’t power—it’s only power when activated.
To be or not to be—that is the question. And to be, we must do more than just think (Mercury). We must also dare to dream (Neptune). We must embrace our intuition, our unique voice, and our inner compass.
Because at the end of the day:Your purpose comes from your authenticity.Your destiny flows from daring to be YOU.
